Hot Weather Tips for Pets

We are in the summer months of the year here in Arizona where we need to watch and take precautions to keep our pets safe from the heat.   Water & Shade is a must Water needs to be available at all times. Recommend that the water be changed daily to make sure it stays at a cooler temperature, or better yet place some ice cubes in the water. If the water is outside, keep the water container in a shady area of the yard. Using a larger container will help too. Pets can get dehydrated quickly, so give them plenty of fresh, clean water when it's hot outdoors. Make sure your pets have a shady place to get out of the sun. Be careful to not exercise them during the hottest part of the day between 10 am – 4 pm or even later as the asphalt can stay hot longer, the dogs are closer to the asphalt too. The pads can protect their feet but only to a point. The dog’s pads can burn, peel, they can get very raw and even blistered. The black bed liner of a truck is just as bad.   Please
